Clint and L.A.

Janie and went back to Dallas today to check on Clint. He had a good night and has has a good day today. The doctor had said that over the next six months if he has more good days than bad he will pull through. It was encouraging to hear that they found more good, unburned skin and so the percentage of burned area has gone down a little. The initial shock is over and the family is now thinking long term. It will be a long road but they have lots of friends and a good church family to help them through. Most of all they have the Lord God as their strength. One of the nurses at the burn center told us today that she has worked there for 20 years. She said that they were just helpers and that God is the one will heal him (Clint). She is so right about that. With a chief doctor who believes in prayer and a staff with such a godly attitude it is no wonder that this burn unit is one of the best in the country. We will be having a blood drive at our church on Sunday, May 17th. Clint will need about 100 units of blood/blood products over the course of the next six months. From the phone calls that I have had so far I can tell it will be a hugely successful drive.

I am going to preach the sermon I had prepared for last Sunday this Sunday. We will try to run the bus Wednesday. Thursday will find us in Henderson taking care of Janie's parents and my mother. My brother, Steve, is headed for California on Friday and I wish things were where I could go with him but it was just not meant to be. The Ladies Auxiliary of our church is meeting here at the house right now and I would love to go in there and join them. We have such a good group of ladies at our church, very caring and loving, and boy can they cook! The picture is of 3 of the ladies of our ladies auxiliary when they met at our house a while back. Please pray for Clint, God bless you.
