We walked 4 1/2 miles underground today at Carlsbad Caverns. This first picture is of the natural entrance. It was about 60 degrees outside when we entered the cave and it was 56 in the cave. They would not allow us to walk back out of the cave due to the fact that they have to rescue 3 to 4 people a month who just can't physically take the whole 3 1/4 mile walk. This second picture is of the entrance from about 100 feet down in the cave. King David hid out in the cave when he was fleeing from Saul. Caves make good shelter for the temperature is constant though the humidity is rather high. We plan to see in the morning the cave with no name just north west of San Antonio, Texas. The afternoon will be spent at the Alamo, a site I have longed to see ever since I moved back to Texas. God bless you.
